The Cornwall Board of Education is responsible for the governance and supervision of the Cornwall Central School District. We are a seven-member board, elected by the community to four-year terms. Our primary role is to ensure that all students in the district have access to a high-quality education that meets their individual needs.
We accomplish this through setting district policy, approving the budget, hiring and evaluating the superintendent, and overseeing curriculum and instruction. We also advocate on behalf of our students and families at the local, state, and federal levels.
In addition to our governing responsibilities, we also provide support and resources to our schools and staff. We offer professional development opportunities for educators, sponsor community events such as Family Math & Science Nights, and partner with local organizations to expand learning opportunities for our students.

The Boardufffds primary responsibilities are to hire the Superintendent of Schools, approve the district budget, set district policies, and oversee the educational program.

The Cornwall Board of Education typically meets once a month on the second Tuesday at 7:00pm in the Administration Building located at 44 Hudson Street, Cornwall NY 12518. Meetings are open to the public and an opportunity for community members to voice their concerns or share ideas with the board.
